Good Luck In Next Chapter

Just a quick note to say Good Luck to all tutees for whom next week begins the next chapter in their lives.

Hopefully you'll use your well earned maths grades to seek out those well sought attributes of health and happiness.

Whether it be at a sixth form, in an apprenticeship, at James Paget hospital, or at UEA in your future teacher training.

James Paget Adult Numeracy Entry Exam

The month of August has been successful for  Adult Numeracy results achieved by Waveney-Tutoring tutees.

First there were the Maths Functional Skills level 1 and 2 results.

Then the Professional Skills Test result from a future PGCE trainee teacher. .

Now my tutee has passed their numeracy exam testing candidates wanting to pursue a career at our local James Paget Hospital.

All  candidates benefitted greatly from personal one-to-one maths tuition.

All worked hard at achieving success in  exams they had either previously failed, or had feared and postponed taking.

Above all, they were a great bunch of people to work with.

Good luck to them all.

Professional Skills Success

Approximately two months ago I was approached to tutor someone in the Professional Skills Test Numeracy Exam.

This is the prerequisite test that all PGCE trainee teachers have to take before doing their Post Graduate Certificate in Education course.

The tutee said they had deferred taking the exam in the past due to lack of confidence.

Together we worked only methods to improve Numeracy in the timed questions in the exam.

Good news. Their hard work has yielded success. Goodbye lack of confidence. Hello successful pass.

I'm so pleased for them.

Maths Functional Skills Success

The good news has started.

Both of my Waveney-Tutoring maths functional skills candidates have passed, after a chequered history with these papers.

Both persevered, both didn't give up. both battled on.

So pleased for them. They are the example of where "not giving up" has paid off.

I am very pleased for them and pass on my sincere congratulations.

The Final Count Down

As we head into the final week before the school holidays I find myself reflecting on the current work facing Waveney-Tutoring.

Summer holiday bookings have thankfully continued.

New and existing tutees wanting GCSE and SATs "booster lessons", and new tutees starting before the September rush.

Home tuition for candidates struggling to cope with the sometimes stressful environments of the modern school life continues.

Professional Skills Tests for potential PGCE teacher trainees continue and so to do adult tutees wanting help with this seemingly daunting maths exam.

James Paget is examining candidate's maths abilities for future staff wanting to enter as carers.  This has  created further work and enquiries.

The adult numereracy theme continues with those asking for help with both Functional Skills Level 1 and 2 maths exams.

Probably the most pleasing growth area has been that created in all of the above by referrals  and references given to new clients by exist tutees and their parents.

Yes it's certainly got quieter as summer breaks approach, but not that quiet.

The work keeps coming in, along with those all important good feedback reports.

End Of Campaign. New One Begins.

Well the final GCSE maths paper is here tomorrow. Good luck everyone.

With it comes the end of this year's tuition campaign for Waveney-Tutoring.

A busy year working 7,days per week,  which has included adult education in nurse prescriber exams, functional skills exams (levels 1 and 2), teacher professional skills tests,  HNC engineering maths exams and GCSE resits.

School tuition has been encouragingly busy with GCSE higher and foundation sessions.

SATs sessions for years four and above have also grown.

Thanks for the support of  tutees and their parents. It's been fun.

The great news is the next year's campaign starts tomorrow, and bookings are looking good.

It's going to be another busy one....
